English Language lessons and Scuba Diving in Malta. The programme consist of ten hours of English lessons with the teacher in the home, full board and accommodation and a choice of PADI recognised Diving courses or varied and popular packages for experienced divers, depending on the level of the student. It also includes transfers to and from the teacher’s home to the dive centre. The fees for this programme include the cost of hiring all equipment. Diving takes place every morning and afternoon and individual students will be placed by the dive centre with suitable teams.
For Experienced Divers
A combination of four half day or two full day popular packages including shore dives and boat dives depending on availability and suitable weather conditions. The full day programmes include all day boat trips to Comino or Gozo with two dives. The full day island trips are only available depending on the experience of the divers. Divers are teamed into groups of similar experience and led by an experienced instructor.
Diving in Malta is easy. At most sites we dive almost to the water’s edge and within a 5 minute swim choose any depth down to 35 metres. Rock erosion has produced the most spectacular scenery with over hangs, swim-throughs and caverns. There is regular shore and boat diving around Malta, Comino or Gozo.
Available PADI courses
PADI SCUBA DIVER
Starts every day. The PADI Scuba Diver is a sub-course consisting of the first three modules of the Open Water Diver Course. There are a total of three confined water sessions, two sea dives and three knowledge sessions. This makes an ideal introduction to diving for those with limited time at their disposal or who have no intention of organising their own diving. The use of special videos and a textbook reduces classroom time, leaving more time for water work. Once completed you can dive anywhere to a depth not greater than 12 metres accompanied always by a PADI Instructor. Students should be able to swim and will be asked to demonstrate that they can float/swim unaided for 10 minutes.
The use of books, all equipment, transport to and from the dive sites the medical check and tuition fees are included.
Although Scuba Diver is essentially a section of the Open Water Diver it is still a stand alone course. The completion of modules 4 and 5 is all that is required to gain the Open Water qualification.
PADI OPEN WATER DIVER
Starts every day. A thorough, introductory course. The five confined water training sessions, four open water dives and theory lessons make an ideal and active holiday introduction to diving. The use of special videos and a textbook reduces classroom time, leaving more time for water work. Students should be able to swim and will be asked to demonstrate that they can swim 200 yards and separately float/swim unaided for 10 minutes.
By the end of the course the student should be familiar with the equipment and be able to relax and enjoy diving in less demanding conditions and at a depth not exceeding 18 metres. In most countries Open Water Divers can procure air and dive independent of an instructor.
The use of books, all equipment, transport to and from the dive sites, the medical check and tuition fees are included.
Who can take a PADI course?
Virtually anyone in good health who's reasonably fit and comfortable in water can learn to scuba dive. After successfully completing the course, you'll be issued a PADI Open Water Diver certification card. This internationally recognised credential is your ticket to dive charters and resort diving, scuba equipment rentals and purchases, and continuing your diving education with courses like the
PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE
Starts every day. This a complete contrast to the Open Water Course. It is almost all diving and very little theory. The open water diver completes a total of 5 dives, the two core dives - Navigation and Deep - plus three more chosen from the list of the many different types of dives available.
The intention is to expose the student to as many different diving experiences as possible.
Before each dive, students are expected to read that chapter from the "Adventures in Diving" manual that deals with type of dive which is about to be enjoyed. There is short classroom session before each dive which reinforces what has been read. This is the only theory.
There is no exam and no confined water work.
This is a really fun programme incorporating new experiences and additional supervised time underwater. Successfully completing the more demanding tasks is also a great confidence booster.
The use of books, all equipment, transport to and from the dive sites and tuition fees are included.
