Teacher profile: Ann-Marie Brook
Hello, my name is Ann-Marie, I live with my husband and our fun-loving daughter (born 2005). I have worked as a teacher since 2008 and we have been a host family teaching English to people from across the world since 2013.
1st June 2018 — We live in the relaxed, coastal town of Newhaven, East Sussex nestled between the cosmopolitan city of Brighton and Hove, the long beaches of Eastbourne and the quaint, historic English town of Lewes. Newhaven has a small town centre, a marina, some beautiful coastal walks, pretty parks and a port with regular ferry crossings to Dieppe.
We enjoy welcoming English language students into our home because we enjoy learning about different countries and cultures. I also feel that each student brings something fresh and new to our home.

I enjoy teaching and giving students a better understanding of the language they need in order to improve their opportunities in life. We are also very pleased to give students a taste of our culture, e.g. roast dinner on Sundays, a visit to the local pub (over 18s), fish and chips on the beach or an afternoon cream tea.
There are also many things to see and do in the local area. These include the outstandingly beautiful white cliffs of the Seven Sisters (the first of which can be seen from your bedroom window), the metropolitan city of Brighton offers a cinema, bowling, Lazerquest, shopping, excursions, museums, etc. We are also very close to the beautiful green countryside and the South Downs. A short drive away are the quaint little English towns of Alfriston and Lewes and London is just an hour away by train.
We as a family are committed to ensuring you have an enjoyable stay with us, quality English lessons and a comfortable stay. We are also used to catering for a variety of food diets.
